“The General Assembly of the members of Sports Association “IRAKLIS” discussed the proposal declaring interest on the part of the company GM Capital having its seat in the city of Sofia, Bulgaria, from a standpoint of the technical and economic parameters, and adopted a resolution to accept the proposal and authorize the Managing Council of the Association to commence further negotiations with the above company.

A decision was also adopted on an initiative of the Managing Concil of the Association for the establishment of Expert Commission including layers, economists and technical experts for the purpose of more detailed investigation of the proposal declaring interest, so as to achieve execution of preliminary agreement on the Project implementation, the latter subject to the approval and ratification by a new Special General Assembly of the Sports Association.”

GM Capital is nether satisfied nor disappointed with the so voted resolution. There should be noted that our expectations were for a far more finalized decision on the proposal submitted on our part. This was to give us a green light to continue self-confidently ahead with the implementation of the Project.

Nevertheless GM Capital continues its further activity. We are expecting soon the formation of the Expert Commission to precise further details of our proposal before submitting it for a final approval to the General Assembly of Gymnastics Association “Iraklis”.

The selection of CSKA initiated great interest in our country, after the team joined the national libero Teodor Salparov, the following experienced former nationals were attracted: Evgeny Ivanov – Pushkata and Svetozar Ivanov, another third foreigner was taken – the Latvian Valters Rama, and the asserted Nikolay Ivanov, Ivailo Stefanov, Daniel Peev, Philip Mayo and Todor Todorov were retained.

The owner of GM Capital clarified moreover: „The only objective with this composition, facing CSKA, is again the passage through the groups in the Champions League. And with luck even further high”. This means that the Reds will have to overcome the Russian Zenith (Kazan), the French Cannes and Unterhahing (Germany). The matches of Group А of the most prestigious club tournament of the Old Continent will start on November 17 while CSKA will first be a guest to the Germans.

CSKA reached the success after during the three days’ wild race scored three victories, and in the decisive meeting with the hosts from Pirin beat Pirin with 3:1 games (25:23, 19:25, 25:18, 31:29).

It was curious that the other volleyball team from the elite championship of Bulgaria, which was supported by GM Capital – Montana also took part in the tournament and ranked fourth. „We started like last year with a cup. Hopefully, we can finish like last season, when we had a golden double with a title and the Cup of Bulgaria, and entered Top 12 of Europe. The winning of Pirin Cup gives us confidence and certainty to continue working and develop”, said after the awards ceremony the captain of CSKA, Nikolay Ivanov.

The ladies’ championship will start on November 5, while during the first half- season there will be only 7 rounds. The tournament for the Cup of Bulgaria will be from 26 to 30 January 2011. Beside the two European participants – the champion CSKA and the vice champion Maritza, in the championship will take place Levski volley, Spartak (Varna), Academic (Sofia), Locomotive (Sofia), Spartak 96 (Pleven) and Slavia. According to the program of the first round on 5 November CSKA receives the Pleven team Spartak 96. The encounter between the first two teams from the last season CSKA – Маritza is on 19 November at 17:00 hours, and the eternal derby Levski Volley – CSKA will be played on 2 December again at 17:00.

The women volleyball champions from CSKA will no more be lead by Atanas Petrov, who took over Dinamo Rompest (Bucharest, Romania), but by the duet Yulia Ivanova and Atanas Lazarov. The army women players will organize control matches with the golden medalists from Maritza, with the well – known Dinamo Bucharest, Iraklis, Tzarvena Zwezda and others, because they will participate in the European tournament Challenge Cup with serious rivals.

„Our aims are a final and defense of the title, again the Cup and good representation in Europe. Thanks to our sponsor GM Capital and Georgi Georgiev, which allowed us to go to Europe, where our girls can gain experience, self-confidence and grow up. Our priority is also the growing up of the younger ones. Our participation in the Challenge Cup is a recognition for the whole leadership and our sponsor that our girls deserve to play in a more different volleyball than the one in Bulgaria. Naturally, we will pursue maximal performance and victories. The matches of the Challenge Cup we will play in Hristo Botev Hall, and the ones of the championship in our Vasil Simov Hall. Naturally, the absence of our previous coach Atanas Petrov will affect us, but in CSKA we always think in prospective and so his team is greater, as to avoid imposing quite new coach with new ideas, and also for the methodology to merge”, declared the boss of the women’s branch of PVC CSKA Verka Nikolova.
